What is OT?

Occupational Therapists help people to achieve the things they want, need or have to do.  OT’s can help people with and without disabilities, of all ages.

Specifically our OT’s have experience helping children develop their school skills such as reading, writing, sustaining attention, cutting and social skills among others.  We also have experience assisting children with disabilities including:

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Intellectual Disability
  • Fragile X Syndrome
  • Learning Disability
  • Sensory Processing Disorder

Cornwall House focus is on you and your child’s strengths and works on these to achieve your goals.

Specifically Cornwall House will conduct a comprehensive assessment, provide intervention and treatment for difficulties as identified from the assessment.  As part of therapy we can liaise with teachers and other professionals in addition to providing suggestions at home.  All therapy sessions utilize fun and varied activities to stimulate your child’s interest and development.
