- for children and adults we offer comprehensive functional assessments which explore all aspects of a persons functions and provides recommendations. Experienced with NDIS the assessment and reports are tailored to suit you and presented in a concise but informative report
- Developmental Assessments
- suitable for children who are experiencing difficulties with school skills and developmental areas such as handwriting, gross motor, fine motor, social skills and visual perceptual skills

An ideal 30mins screening for children in Kindy, Pre-Primary, Year 1 to check in on key skills
Cornwall House OT has run a successful screening program for many years at partnered school. We have now opened this service for all families to access.
This screening takes 30minutes and will provide an indication of your child’s gross motor, fine motor, visual perceptual and visual-motor integration abilities. This screening can take place at our office or your child’s school (with agreement from teachers).
WHO
Any child enrolled in Kindergarten, Pre-Primary or Year 1 (or equivalent).
HOW MUCH
$150 (including report).

Our Handwriting Assessment is designed for children between the age of 9-18 years old who may be experiencing difficulties with handwriting.
These can include unspecified difficulties such as slow writing speed, letter reversals or more specifically dyslexia, dysgraphia and other learning difficulties.
Cornwall House OT is pleased to be one of the first places in WA where you can access Animal-Assisted Therapy. Dash is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has been in training since a puppy so that he can help to develop children and adults:

Humans and Animals have a unique bond which is capitalized on during therapy sessions. Dash has an innate desire to be with people and please them, which means he enjoys the therapy sessions as much as you do.
Animal-Assisted Therapy can support individuals who enjoy spending time with animals, perhaps may have become discouraged with therapy or are looking for an addition to their therapy. Both people with and without disabilities can access and benefit from Animal-Assisted Therapy.

Following the assessment (if necessary), your OT will discuss the option of participating in individualised OT sessions.
These sessions are tailored to suit your goals. Our Kenny Street facility has specific fine motor rooms as well as an indoor gym.

Currently run only for children our fun school holiday group program helps develop skills while children play with their peers
Groups are run during the school holidays are are tailored to the development of specific skills such as handwriting, fine motor skills, pencil grip, gross motor skills, social skills and sensory regulation.
These groups are fun and allow children to enjoy their school holidays while inadvertently developing their skills.
We maintain small numbers in our groups so that we can give each child the attention they deserve.
